About the 2009 Labor Media Center

ILCA members from across the country, in town for the biennial meeting of the organization, fanned out across Pittsburgh September 11, 2009 in media teams, working with local union activists in a dozen industries. Pens, cameras, mics and camcorders in hand, we talked with the folks who make the city run, and then rendered their words into stories. On these web pages you can read, see and hear what they have to say about life on the job and off, and how they and their city are faring during the Great Recession. We will continue to add to this website over the next week as we cover the AFL-CIO convention.
