Green Jobs in Rural Places (Video)

Ebensberg, PA - Amid the rolling hills, rural farms, and church steeples of Western Pennsylvania, it may not appear they are on the cutting edge of technology, but growing from this spot is a new model for union green jobs and sustainable energy.

Ebensburg, PA, like so many other towns, was hit hard by job loss and the transition from heavy manufacturing, and the United Steelworkers have been working closely with Gamesa, a Spanish manufacturer of Wind Turbines, to create a successful future for green jobs here, and in other parts of the state.

Aided by legislative initiatives passed by Pennsylvania, the state now requires higher percentages of green energy as part of an effort to move towards more sustainable and renewable energies.

Solutions like wind power that don't damage the environment and reduce our dependence on foreign oil have that potential.
