SENATE REJECTION LEAVES AUTO RESCUE IN WHITE HOUSE HANDS
The Senate’s 52-35 vote late Dec. 11 -- not enough "yes" votes to stop a GOP filibuster -- on bridge loans to rescue two of the nation’s top three auto makers leaves their fate to the anti-worker GOP Bush White House.
